Known for its flared base, towering trunk, and soft, feathery foliage, it evokes the look of ancient trees growing in wetlands. Its rapid growth and forgiving nature make it one of the best species for developing impressive bonsai in a relatively short time.

Care
This species thrives in full sun and loves water. Unlike most bonsai, Bald Cypress can tolerate—and even prefers—very wet conditions. During the growing season, it can be placed in a tray of water to accelerate growth and trunk development.

Keep soil consistently moist and avoid letting it dry out. Prune regularly to control growth and build structure. It is highly responsive and recovers quickly from pruning, making it ideal for beginners.
